UGH. Please, everyone and their ipod knows Feist isn’t indie. Perhaps the major label distribution was the first telltale sign. The problem with this National Post piece is that:

(1) it makes the assumption that if you’re not indie you’re the same as Avril Lavine, and

(2) by winning a juno you lose your indie status… ARE YOU KIDDING ME… 1.4 million people watched the junos this year (we can safely assume that 100% of these people were canadian). It’s not like you’re gonna see some global bump in sales and profile like you might if you were to win a grammy.

Incidentally, Feist has never won a grammy.
